PRESSURE TREATED LUMBER: |
- We purchase from selected mills the best quality #2 and better lumber
available. We then further grade this lumber to remove defects before
staining and pressure treating. The end result is a lumber product with a
high appearance quality, as all pieces will have one good face and two
good edges.
- A chemical reaction between the stain and the ACQ preservative occurs
during the treating process. This reaction and the pressure of treating
locks the stain into the wood, resulting in very high colour retention.
The rich colour will last two to three years on deck surfaces and as long
as seven years on vertical surfaces.
- A WeatherSHIELD wax is also applied to the surfaces of the lumber
during the treating process. This water repellent adds to the longevity of
Cedartone, as it helps to correct some of the natural checking and
twisting tendencies of lumber.
